Okay, I wrote in before that my Evinrude (1989) 48 SPL would not start. when i checked the fuel I found it has a LOT of water in the tank and now the line and carburetors. I can pump out the water in the fuel tank, but how do I clear out the carbs, fuel pump, etc. Your help is really appreciated.

Re: Lots of water in fuel

I got some water in my fuel tank from the gas station once....didn't find out till the engine stalled out in the middle of the river. Bummer.

What I did was to take the carb cover off, take the plugs out of the carb bowls and with fresh gas in the can, start squeezing the primer bulb and let the stuff drain out the carb drain plug holes. You can stuff some rags under the carbs to keep the mess down. Once your sure you got all the water out, won't take much, take the filter cover off the fuel pump and make sure it's clean.

Should be good to go.
