Does anyone know if in Louisiana the boat is titled? I think it's just the trailer, but I want to make sure. I've been to the LA DMV website and I can't find anything on it.

I believe that the boat is titled too. I live in East Texas and my friend just bought a used boat titled in LA and he's been complaing about how hard its going to be getting it transfered to Texas.

The boat must be registered with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. The trailer titled with the DMV

Buttanic

Yeah I think thats how it works here. The boat is registered with wildlife and fisheries and the trailer has a title that has to be dealt with at the DMV. I had a boat not too long ago but I bought it from a dealer and when I sold it I only had to deal with the buyers bank.
It's kind of a pain in the you know what.
