Mercuriser 3.0 Liter with Alpha I Gen II drive, S/N 0L420022.
At the end of last seaons I pulle the stern drive, replaced water pump, aligned couplings, etc., reassembled with all new gaskets and O-rings and filled with gear oil. After a few outings this year the gear oil level in the resivoir has dropped. No leaking oil is visible in the bilge or on my driveway. The oil in the lower unit is up to the vent plug and the oil is not discolored. Is this an issue to be concerned about? Thanks.

Not yet.

The oil will drop some as all the air bubbles work their way to the top. Keep topping it off.

The level should stop dropping after a few hours of running. If it keeps dropping, you *may* have a leak......

Cheers,
