I just started my 1996 3.0 mercruiser up after sitting about 2 months.
i was puzzled that the oil pressure was really low from last time i started it.
this time is barely moves. only when i increase the rpms, it move a little. is this a problem or is this normal for sitting a while.

How many PSI does it read?
I'd do some checking before I actually took it out again....;)

You need to put a direct reading gage on it before you decide that it actually has low oil pressure......

The direct reading (mechanical) gauge is the best way to find out if you have oil pressure for sure or not.
Did you check to make sure there is actully oil in the engine before you started it?
