low power on 64 evinrude 9.5 hp

I have a 64 evinrude 9.5 with low power will not rev up I think it is the points setting were do you have the throttel and were do you have the cam wean setting the points.

The position of the armature plate is not inportant Be sure the points are on the highest point of the cam and set to .020.Be sure to check the condition of the points and that the armature<br />plate is stable.<br />Many times if a motor sits a lot the fuel system<br />will gum up the usual symtom is poor hole shot<br />and no top end.Its a good plan to check the<br />points anyway.Get yourself a manual it will<br />save you time,agravation and money.You can find <br />them at the bottom of the page,amazon.com,ebay<br /> NAPA auto parts or even the library.
