I noticed today while out on the water, in forward gear, but at low rpms, i start to lose my rpms slowly. Example - crusising lets say at 1600-2000 rpms, then by itself it will drop about 100rpms every second. If it gets about 3000 RPM's it seems fine. Any replies would be great.<br />cheers

Re: Low rpm decrease

How's the friction setting on the throttle lever? Might just need a bit of snugging up. There's usually and adjustment screw on the mechanism (someplace difficult to find or get to ;) ).

Re: Low rpm decrease

Not sure if this is relevant but on my boat (stern heavy) the stern tends to settle into the water from planing speed and the boat slows down. I don't have a tach so I can't see what the engine RPM's are doing when this happens but I know the throttle position has not changed. It is a very delicate balance to maintain a planing speed without running 3/4 - full throttle. Just a thought.
