Hellow all, well its been almost two months since i have rebuilt the carbs on my 98 evenrude 115 v4, and today it finalley warmed up to 60 degrees so i brought the boat out of the shop to see how well i did with the carb rebuild and link and synk. I preset the low speed needles at five and three quarters , when i started it it started ok than started to cough and sneeze and wanted to die so i proceeded to open the needles a qaurter a turn than it idled . So i proceeded to bring out my horse trough and fill it up and lolerd the engine in it and started it up and let it warm up . After it reached operatig temperature i put it in gear and just so slightley accelerated it a little than back to neutral motor idlled very well i will take to the lake next warm day and run it under actuel conditions, what i want to know is how critical the low speed adjustments are if motor runs ok and idles ok even if you have it just slightley to rich at idle does it make a big differance on the over all performance of the motor. Thank you
