I have a Yamaha 60,4 stroke on my new Scout 160 C.C.
It came with an alum.12" prop. All the performance charts I veiwed prior to purchase have top speed on this set up at 38 mph/6100 rpm(tested with 13")
My boat tops out at 34 mph/6000 rpm.The motor is smoth up until full trottle,it then sounds like it "missing".I'm not sure if motor has rev.limiter but thats what it seems like. The dealer says"change props".I guess I have no choice. If I have to change prop I would like to go to a S.S. I would like to find someone that has this set up so I don't buy a $300 prop that's not right either

thanks

Not expert but you mean 12 inch pitch. Props have 2 demensions diameter followed by pitch ie: 12 X 12.
The guys will need your wot speed and rpm.Wouldn't hurt to give your typical load and type of boat. Also type of boating you do.
Generally speaking you wouldn't increase pitch when going from aluminum to
Stainless. These decisions depend on your present performance.Increasing pitch would decrease hole shot.
