my 89 120 evinrude will only read 11.5 to 12.5 volts while running (acording to in-dash volt meter). i have yet to have a battery go dead but this does concern me a little. any tips?
Your engines reg /rec is either not putting out or the volt guage is not working.Worst case scenario is the stator winding .If equipped ,does the engines tach seem to be working?
I'd double check the voltage reading (at the battery terminals)with a multi-meter as a start. I got a nice little digital one at Radio Shack for $20. You should be in the 13-15v range while running.
