Low water pickup??

I saw a bullet with a 150 merc on it and on the lowerunit it had stainless braide hoses attached?im quessing this was alowwater pickup,but it seems like it would catch grass and cause alot of drag,any other ideas on what it could have been for?

You're right though about the drag. Unless you're at gearcase blow-out speed it'll slow you down most likely.

arent the water tubes just below the anti-cav plate? isnt the point to be so that, if you have the low water pickup, you can raise the motor so that they are out of the water?
