Hi I am interested in purchasing a lowe 14ft mod v jon boat. It would come with a tiller but instead I want to go to a shop and install a center console. After that what would I do? Do I buy a steering wheel, throttle, and install that than hook it up to the motor or should I just go to the shop and have them hook it all up? thanks

Re: Lowe jon boat

buy a boat with the console already there, cheaper in the long run.

the ones that come with a console already are way to heavy at around 500lbs. the one i want is like 210 lbs. No i have already decided to get a center console just want to know how to hook everything up. I definitely need to be able to stand where i boat.

Re: Lowe jon boat

have you already picked out your Console?

I bought a lowe tiller model and ordered the Center Console that went with the CC version...i also had the dealer order the helm and steering wheel and cables.

it came with a small wiring harness and a three switch panel for bilge, nav lights and areator.

I havent checked but did they even offer a Center console in 14 ft??

if not you have to make sure you find one that is NARROW enough to allow you to walk around it.

I have seen some small fiberglass version from TODD ( i think)

you will have to accurately measure for throttle and shift cabels , as well as the steering...makign sure you dont have any bends less than say 9" RADIUS!!!

good luck
