I have a Johnson 9.5. The lower case has signs of an oil leak from grease and grim on the case. It looks to be coming from the propeller, second thing is the motor was layed on its side for a bit.when I propped it back up it leaked oil for about 5 minutes and stopped and hasn't leaked since, so here is my questions;
1 when the oil leaked out it was nice and clean no milky or anything, so maybe it isnt leaking, but at the same time there is signs of an oil leak. I have heard the lower case has vents could this be how the oil leaked out because it was on its side ????? It hasn't leaked a drop for two weeks now since being uprighted. 2 I have heard you can pressure test the case to check for bad seals do you do this of the drain and fill plugs and how ?????
3 if it is just a propeller seal can it be changed without gutting the whole lower case, and 4 what are common lower case seals gone bad (I bought the whole lowercase seal kit)............................thanks in advance
