is it possible to remove the lower cowling, without splitting powerhead from upper half of lower unit??
I.E. this motor has top cover, front plate, wrap around that releases under front plate, and a lower cowling that covers bottom half of power head, it seems when you remove aluminum front top and rear reinforcement frame the lower cowl would fall right off, if engine swivel plate was removed, and or pull up over powerhead.
I have 2 1150's, one is parts, the lower cowling is in great shape, my runner, someone tried lifting im guessing with hand holds and snapped 2 of 4 off, so I would like to swap them out.

It's not going to come off without pulling the powerhead.

Jimmbo,
this being the case, then it wouldn't be required to remove the starter or carb then would this be correct?
Remove bolts from inner aluminum frame to lower cowl, and pull bolts loose from upper half of lower unit and separate from power head?

carbs and starter can remain attached. Throttle cable needs to be disconnected, battery cables need disconnecting
