Lower drive gears on alpha one

I have removed my lower gearcase and noticed that when you turn the drive shaft by hand all the gears work fine but you can feel the teeth of the gears as they turn, is this normal? is it because there is now oil in the unit at the moment?

If you mean that you can feel the teeth engaging each other that is normal. The clicking is louder with no oil in the drive.
