Lower seal - Did I install it wrong?- HELP!

Lower seal - Did I install it wrong? Tossed the original part and when I installed the seal into the bottom plate I thought I'd installed it it the right direction. But looking at it today it looks odd.

Sanity check please. Is the actual seal (orange part) installed in the right orientation? Being able to see the actual spring has me concerned. Sorry for the links but I don't know how to post a big picture here.

Looks to be installed right to me.I only hope the goop I am seeing in the pic is grease and not rtv sealant between the seal and crankshaft.

I think it's it is urpside down. The parts diagram shows which way it is supposed to go. Check it out at http://shop.evinrude.com/

It's Grease -

Admiral says OK - Fleet Admiral says upside down... Battle of the brass.

Who's right? I think I got it right but I'm looking for someone who knows for sure before I seal the deal.

Just looked in the service manual, you have it right.
The photo's are very clear.

Theres a wide edge and a narrow edge,
the narrow goes toward the prop
wide edge towards the crank.

Well, ok after a second and third and fourth look at the picture, I've decided it is correct. The open side of the shell goes up. It looks like that's the way you have it. Sorry about the confusion.
