I have B III outdrive and I just replaced the shift cable bellows. While out and apart, thought I would change the shift cable (which I have done on Alpha). I'm having a difficult time getting the outer shift cable sleeve to pass through the transom from the back/gimbal. I have the old inner cable threaded from the inside to act as a guide so I'm sure I'm hitting the hole but I cant get it to pass. I'm doing this with the new bellows installed. I have an extra shift cable bellow if it would be easier to remove the bellow, slide the new one down the cable and re-install. This is on a 2002 Crowneline with 350 Mag. Thanks

Your hitting the plastic bushing in the housing folding over one of the edges. remove the shift boot and using a small 1/4 drive socket spread the "wings" of
the plastic bushing ,start the cable sheath thru, then install the boot.
