lower shift cable keep wire

I am not having any luck finding an image of how to wrap the keep wire in the lower shift cable in the housing. I just want to make sure I don’t bind something else up when outdrive goes on etc.

what manual has this stuff and bellows replacement? I have an Mc1 drive.

And in picture you’ll see the new cable assembly is in and the new end piece is different than mine. Can I use this new one or use the darker one on top?

my cable screwed in from the rear so it is the newer style. Someone may have replaced at some point I’m not sure.

But it had the darker, maybe the old style end piece on it.

wrap that wire so it doesnt go outside the edges there's plenty of space at the back of the cavity in the drive but not along the sides maual 14 has a good drawing on page 26 of the 'minor disassembly section

Thanks guys. I take it the different shift slide piece is ok and I can use it over the one that was in my boat?
