I took off my prop, and removed the shaft because I was getting an oil leak around the 4 screws that hold on the housing.. I accidentally broke the wire that is attached to the magnet.. I can see the wire coming down from the motor, my question is can I solder the wires back together or must I replace the entire wire? Also I noticed the o-rings that go on the bolts are missing, and I believe that is where my oil leak is coming from... where can I get the o-rings to fix... I am new to boat repairing, and new to this forum.. any help would be very much appreciated...

You must have an RK-24 model. Yes, you can solder the wires back together, but I would get some good shrink wrap on the joint, to keep water out. Most of your marine suppliers will be able to get the seals you need for that. If not, Sea-Way Marine should easily have what you need. Even if you only need individual seals and o-rings for that.

I checked my model number on the engine.. it is 35933.. I went to the page you recommended, and just my luck, its the only one that is not online... also, If I drop my lower unit, to replace the impeller, do I have to get all new seals for the lower unit, or can I just re-assemble it..

Finding parts is easier than you might think, but before you abandon hope, believe me: JB Weld is simply amazing stuff. Don't discount it's use in an application like that...

I've also found that Gray Marine-Tex works good.

Oh yea...Duh. Evinrude, not Johnson. You should be able to find a complete seal kit. It won't be a bad idea to re-seal it, to give you good piece of mind. If water is staying out good, then it won't be necessary. I would keep an eye on the oil in it though, to make sure it stays clean.
