lower unit 85hp johnson 75 yr

When replacing prop I notice some vertical and horizontal movement in prop shaft.Also lubricant had a small amt water.Does this movement mean bearing replacement or will seals correct?I have no knowledge about motors or gear cases.Thanks Front

frontneck,<br /><br />Some movement is normal.<br /><br />I would suggest you replace the fill/drain plug seals, refill the unit and run it.<br /><br />Check it again after a few hours run time. If you have water again, you should have the lower unit pressure/vacuum tested.
