When the lower unit is out (888) can I check the play, on the shafts or anything else without tearing it apart. it's getting a little water in it and thought there might be something to look for there as well.
A pressure test will tell you that...They (the testers)are usually available on ebay...It should hold approx. 15 # all day long...Look in the 'search' function, there is alot of stuff on this subject there.....JK
