Lower Unit Eaten Away by SS Jack Plate

I'm not sure of the best place to post this question, so I'll try here.

I'm being told that a jack plate made from stainless steel will cause the lower unit of my outboard to get eaten away very quickly by corrosion. I am not sure if this is a real issue, or an old wives tale. People don't seem to have any trouble with stainless props, for example, and I know there are at least a few commercially-made jackplates that are constructed out of stainless steel. And virtually all jackplates have stainless hardware.

Anyone have any more information? Actual experience?

I'd have to say "wive's tales"....as long as your anodes are good and correctly installed, as with all hardware, I don't see any problems.

When you bolt the motor to the jack plate they become as one.
As suggested be sure the anodes are in good shape.
