I have a 1998 vip deckliner with a 350 mag and a bravo 1 lower unit. I was told that on the tilt and trim i can use transmission fluid. Is this ok to mix tilt and trim fluid with tranny fluid? I didn't have any trim fluid the last time at the lake and he had a quart of tranny fluid so we went ahead and used it. Everything is working, just think i need to drain it and replace the fluid. It was low due to a leak in the plastic bottle....

Re: lower unit fluid

If you actually mean the plastic res. for the power trim, ATF is ok.
If you mean the drive oil res. ,it`s not OK. Losing that oil means there is a leak in the drive that need to be fixed.
