Hello, Everyone I will soon be cranking up my 1979 175 Black Max, That thanks to some of you I kept in great shape last season. When I changed the Lower Unit Lube I noticed that the Oil was Milky somewhat. I read in a earlier post something about a gasket and vent? what is this? and what should I do. Do I need to Change more often than Once a year.

The gaskets on the vent and fill screws are often overlooked. Replace them at each gear oil change. You may want to install new gaskets and run your rig for a while, and check the lube again. If water is still present, at least you have eliminated the vent and fill gaskets from the possibilities. Once a year is plenty for most users, just use a good quality marine lube.
