I have a eska 3.6 that needs a new impeller. I can't get the lower unit off. I have removed the the screw in the exhaust outlet and the nut behind the clip but the lower unit will not come off. Is there something else holding it on ? Please help

Re: lower unit help

on these motors you have to remove the power head from the lower motor leg and remove the flare from the upper end of the water tube. and you may want to check but i dont think that you have an impeller your power head is air cooled the lower motor leg is water cooled but the way that this works if this is the case is that water is forced up the water tube by forward motion not by a impeller:/

I think ya just need to give it a good whack with a rubber mallet. The only motors I know off that need powerhead yanking are old Johnsons, and thats to get at the shift rod
