1985 115 Johnson. Pulled the lower unit bearing carrier(many curse words) and replaced the o ring seal and both prop shaft seals. Ran a few trips and all seemed well. Last two trips noticed when I tilted motor down to flush the next day had a little puddle of gear oil under skeg. Have a leak. Gear case is kinda rough inside where bearing carrier fits(again, many cuss words getting bearing carrier out). Dont know if its prop shaft seals or o ring on bearing carrier. Should I rig a pressure tester and see if i can pip point it or just pull carrier and replace o ring and seals again. Gear oil leaking looks brand new as it only has less then 50 hours on it.

Re: lower unit leak

Did you replace the o-rings on the screws holding the bearing carrier? Locate the leak by pressure and vacumm testing.
