Sorry to bother you all again, but i lost my bid on ebay for the lower unit for my 89 50hp force! I got home 20 minutes too late and got outbid by 2.50!!! I see theres a couple more on there, but possibly from an older merc or 4 cylinder. Im told a 40-to-50 horse will work, as long as its from years 1984-1994. Am I correct? Will it work if its off A MERCURY? I dont care what the darn thing costs, i just need it up and running again. Im just trying to clear up the confusion...........i dont wanna bid on something if it wont bolt up, BUT, I can swap over gears and/or other parts to make it fit if necessary.
