I have some real dark oil leaking out of one of those holes right above the vent and fill holes?can you guys please tell me what i have to replace and if going out on it this weekend is a good or bad idea?there is a picture of one of these holes on page 8-6 in the seloc book at the bottom middle of the page to the right of the word (6 pics). THANX AGAIN

If that's dark and your gearlube isn't, it's just unburned fuel mixed with carbon in the exhaust.

Smell it. If it smells like gas it is like Willy says. If it is one of the most obnoxious smells you have ever smelt and the smell wont go off your hands it is probably lower unit oil. If you think it is lower unit oil crack the drain plug and let a few drops out and see what color it is. Milky white or water then milky white is bad.
