Lower Unit Question...

I have a 1985 Evinrude 40hp motor. Will a 1986 Evinrude lower unit fit it? I know its kinda vague but...

It should, depending on the size. What hp is the 86

I'm sorry about that. Both are 40hp lower units. My motor is an 85 and the lower unit I am looking to buy is off of a 86 motor.
