So i need to know what is going on could have someone have put the wrong lower unit on that might be a counter rotation unit. How can i tell the difference Its a 1990 GT 150 I can tell the lower unit is different cause of the color. Thanks

Re: Lower unit question

if it is a counter rotating unit..you NEED to get a counter rotating prop, it can mess up the gears from my understanding..I have heard of some older cases that had backwards shift linkage but i think you may have a Counter rotating prop

Re: Lower unit question

Being a 150 it could easily be a counter rotating engine, when run in pairs one engine turns right and one left, sounds like you got a left hand rotation.

You just need to get a left hand prop, they have them here at iboats.
