Lower unit question

I just changed the Lower unit oil on my 86 Johnson 28 special. I am getting a small amount of oil leaking
out of what looks like a weep hole. It is positioned at the same height as the top refilling screw. Is this a
overflow ? I don't think I overfilled it. It has since stopped leaking but want to make sure of what it is.

Thanks

Re: Lower unit question

That is basically a cavity drain and the oil you see seeping is unburnt oil from the powerhead. It's normal. What's really important is that there is no water in your lower unit oil to turn it milky white.

Re: Lower unit question

Ok great. Thanks. I thought it was something to do with the lower unit. Yea the oil was not milky when I
Changed. No water.

Thanks again.
