If you have removed all bolts etc. that hold gearcase and it still doesn't drop, try inserting two beefy screwdrivers between gearcase and exhaust housing, one on each side of the gearcase and both screwdrivers as far forward as possible. Then try prying the gearcase apart from the exhaust housing. The end of the driveshaft is stuck in the end of the crank shaft up underneath the powerhead. If it's not stuck too bad, then prying will work. If it's stuck real bad then you need to suspend the motor in the air (upside down) by the gearcase and squirt penetrating oil on the drive shaft (anyplace where you can get at the driveshaft ) T he oil will run down the driveshaft and work with gravity to break things apart . May take an hour, a day or two, maybe weeks, maybe never. Another possibility is you removed a nut and there is a stud passing thru the exhaust housing the stud may be frozen. Try applying heat and penetrating oil and the screwdrivers.
