was driving down the river when all of a sudden the motor started reving and I slowed down to a stop.

Trying to get the lower unit off to take a look at the driveshaft, but It seems the shift shaft is keeping the unit from comming off.

Where do I disconnect the shift shaft from the lower unit?

Thanks in advance

On the port side under the carb there is a retaining pin

I can see the retaining pin, but a little unsure of how to remove it.

Do I have to remove the 4 sided nut on the starboard side of the motor to take the pin out?

That nut it so tight I'm worried about breaking something trying to get it off.

Thanks
Stephen

Re: Lower Unit Removal

Rotate the clip 90 degrees clockwise and remove it, you will also have to loosen the screw in the rev, latch actuator
