Lower Unit Replaced with New SEI Now Getting Noise

After hitting something in the river last year that put a baseball sized hole in the leading edge of my bravo II lower unit, I had it replaced with an SEI compatible unit by my local shop.

Before the replacement you could hardly tell the engine was running when under way at wake speed. Now you feel vibration in your feet and the steering wheel and hear a whirr, whirr sound. The top speed is still fine.

Could the shop have done something wrong in the replacement or is this just how the SEI replacements sound? It's very noticeable and annoying.

(I've tried two different props thinking the prop may not be balanced but there was no change)

a complete drive or just a lower? May have some unseen damage in the upper from the strike.Don`t the Bravos need the props "indexed"

Ayuh,.... Call the Shop,+ see just how much Diagnostics they did on the Driveline for Impact Damage....
If they agreed to Just replace the lower unit,...
There may still be Unfound Problems from the original Impact....

Are you sure it was a Bravo II? SEI doesn't make a replacement for the Bravo II, but they do make one for the Bravo I.

Some people like to index the props on a Bravo III with its dual propeller arragement, but this doesn't apply to single impeller drives.

You're right. It's an Alpha One Gen II.

It was just the lower unit that was replaced. The shop also replaced my exhaust bellows and said they checked the gimble bearing and everything was ok.
