After replacing the impeller on my '76 9.9 Johnson, and bolting the lower unit back on, I was wondering if there was supposed to be a seal or gasket to be installed. There wasn't one there when I removed the lower unit. My first motor. Also still having trouble getting anything but a spray out of the "pee-hole"
Thanks for the help

If you're talking about between the lower unit and the leg, then no. I don't work on small motors too much but I don't think your motor has a "pee" hole. Some spray should come out the exhaust releif hole with exhaust. Sounds like yours is working right. To be sure though, check the motor for overheating. Put your hand on the top of the head. You should be able to keep it there for some time without burning yourself.

Thanks for the reply, Walker
What you said is what other people have said as well. I have been assuming that the exhaust hole was a water vent. I have taken the cowling off while running and it doesn't get overly hot.
It's never failed to start and never quit on me, so I'll leave it at that...

Thanks again
