I dont know if I havent noticed it until now or what but last night when I put the ear muffs on my boat to get it ready for the spring i noticed that there is some water leaking out of the area between my lower unit and the upper unit. is this normal? by the way the water pump is spitting water out perfectly. its only leaking on the side closest to the boat. the other side still looks like its sealed almost like it has been caulked. should i be worried? this is my first boat and i got it last fall.

Yup, totally normal. That joint doesn't need to be water tight.

There's a bunch of drain holes above the lower unit to allow water to drain when out of the water. It's perfectly normal for water to come out of a number of places running on the hose, including the seam between the midsection and lower unit.
