I was contemplating replacing the lower unit seals on my 94 force 50. i bought the clymer repair manual and read through it all. it sure seems like a daunting task and was curious if anyone had an idea of what it could cost to take it to a dealer to have done. even a ball park would be helpful. is it as difficult as it looks or is it something that is doable?? all opinions welcome. Thanks!!!!

Re: Lower unit seals

Off season you might be able to find someone to do it for around 200 dollars. Doing it the first time is kind of scary, the second time you are pretty good at it however you just dont want to do it. The worst part is getting the bearing cage off. If you can take something apart and reverse the order when you put it back together it is not that bad. A digital camera helps and the manual is priceless.
