lower unit shaft swap

Im about to replace my lower unit on my 1996 force 120. I have found a used lower unit with a 25in. shaft but I think my lower unit has a 20in shaft. Can the two shafts be changed out? If so is it something the average person can do or should I take it to the shop?

Take it to the shop.You need special tools to acomplish this job.Jerry

Thanks, I found one today with a 25in shaft so i think ill go with that.
