I plan on dropping thet lower unit to replace the water pump. Has anyone built a wooden jig to support the lower unit? The boat is 2 hours away so I can't take any measurements.

Any advise would be appreciated.

RHB

They are really not that heavy at all and not too bad to handle. Save your time and wood.

Bob

I use a Black & Decker Workmate. It opens up just wide enough to get the lower unit (bullet) through and then you can close it a little and the cavitation plate will sit on top and hold the unit. I have done complete rebuilds and it works great.

Reddog
