Hey guys can I swap a lower unit from a 56 10hp johnson seahorse to a 56 18hp Johnson , thanks

There is no such thing as a 1956 18hp. Need correct info to answer your question.

Yes, that's a 1957 18 HP, and the lower unit from a 1956 10 HP (QD-17) should fit. The gear ratio is the same, but the stock prop from the 18 will be a higher pitch then the prop from the 10, so unless the 18 will be on a very heavy, non-planing boat you'll want to swap the prop for the higher pitched one.
