lower unit swap

Will a 1971 850 mercury lower unit fit on a 1975 115 mercury outboard, are there any thing i need to change from one unit to the other to make this swap..

I think It will probably swap right out.

But it may have a different gear ratio.

If it has a different gear ratio it will require that the propeller be changed to a different pitch in order to make it usable.

OK thanks will put it on and try the prop and go from there, cant remember what size and pitch is on it now but will look.
