Lower Unit Trim Tab

Hi there,<br /><br />I am in the process of replacing the water pump on my 1992 70 HP evinrude. While removing the gearcase I noticed that the trim tab was not installed. Does anyone know if it would cause any problems operating the engine with it not installed. I just purchased this engine.<br /><br />Any help is appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks

There is a water pickup hole in the trim tab. Provides extry water thru the exhaust to help cool the prop hub.
