I have a 99 johnson 115V-4,looking for a lower unit. Will a 92, 90hp unit
fit? I am not sure of the lenght yet, If that matters when you change lower unit, I do not know. Also was thinking I can use evinrude unit?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: lower unit

Putting an Evinrude lower on a Johnson will make it faster. Sorry, can't help myself today.

The 99 115 should be a 60* V4 looper. The unit from a 92 90 (V4 crossflow) will be a little longer right at the spline area. You may have to shorten the splines 3/8" and turn down the area right under the splines.

However, both models should have 2 piece driveshafts. Therefore all you need to do is pop the upper shaft out of the 92 and put the upper in from your unit. Use your shift shaft and away ya go!
