Lower Unit

Picked up my boat from storage today and some yahoo chunked the fin below the prop on the ground busted 1/4 to 1/2 inch off and bent another inch or so slightly. I was told this fin merely protects the prop and wont effect boat or engine performance or handling any thoughts?

Howdy Rob,<br />A good aluminum welder can fix this especially if you have the old piece that brok off, migh try your local prop shop. As well as protecting the prop it also acts as a additional rudder, you probly won't notice too much differance. I have run them with hardly any lower skeg left,but I would recomend getting it fixed,besides making it the way it was, it will add to the resale value.<br />Just my thoughts
