I purchased a 1997 75hp force. The lower unit is bad. I need a propshaft, clutchdog and reverse gear. Is there a boatyard where i could get these used items without purchasing the entire lower unit. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: lower unit

To find the parts and then find someone who'll put them in and do it right?
That's gonna be tough.
Look around for marine salvage yards.
I used to have a list of salvage yards. That was in the old puter. It took a dump and I can't get that info out.
I know a couple of the other guys have it? Maybe they'll post it?

Re: lower unit

Think: What goes bad on lower units? Skegs, propshafts, dog clutches, and gears. What are the chances of finding a lower unit with gears in good condition and a bad case? Slim to none and slim has left the building. Most people will simply not want to part out a good lower unit. If they do part it out, the internals will cost almost as much as the whole lower, so you are left with the only option of buying a whole, functioning lower.
