Lowerend Problems!....I mean with my boat!

Actually, I don't know if this is a problem or not. I have a '77 45HP Chrysler and when I shift it into reverse it revs up but it doesn't really speed up. I don't know if it is suppose to do this or if something is slipping. Could it be the prop?<br />Thanks!

Mark the hub and prop body, try reversing a few times, and check to see if the marks separated. That will tell you if the prop is spun. Remember, a slight increase in rpm in reverse will not provide the same thrust as going forward.
