Re: Lowes tube leaks

I would think the tubes are still under warranty. Not sure how long it is on a Lowe's.

Re: Lowes tube leaks

We bought our 2003 Lowe's pontoon a few months ago from an individual. It had water in the starboard tube when we bought it (I heard it slosh in there when the owner was backing the boat down the ramp). I haven't gotten the water out yet (trying to find a 3/8" EZ Siphon since the 1/2" version won't fit into the port on the top of the toon). After I get the water out, I'll be monitoring to see if more water gets in. We've been out on the boat several times since we bought it and I can't tell that it has anymore water now than it did when we got it -- based on the sound of the slosh when I pick up the trailer tongue fast.

But glad to know where to be looking for a leak if we have one. So I'll know where to tell the welder to be repairing if we get more water in the tube.

Re: Lowes tube leaks

Welcome to iboats.

I would get with your dealer and try to have them fixed through Lowe, should still be a warranty if they are only 3 years old.

Was it right where the brackets attach to the tubes, that is a very common spot to fail because it is a major stress point.

Cracks grow until they run out of metal to crack so definately get this looked at because they will only get bigger.

5150ABF really knows what he's talking about. He works at another manufacturer in the toon welding dept.
