Hello,

I have a 192khz transducer connected to a lowrance lms 350a FF and no longer register bottom-- I have 0.0 depth and does not change-- I've reset the unit as suggested by Lowrance support and cleaned the transducer with no luck-- It stopped working about 2 months ago and never worked since--Its quite old, probably 10 years old and I suspect its defective, but is there a way to check it ? I guess i could spend the $50+ and replace it but just trying to learn if it can be diagnosed--?? Or is there something wrong with the fish finder?

Any ideas??

Thanks very much

Well there are things you can do to get an idea if it is working.
First with the boat in the water put you hand or foot under the transducer. if it is transmitting you should be able to feel the pulse. I also have a 192 Khz transducer and can actually feel and hear the transducer. On My boat have two 192 Khz transducers. One is standard 20 degree and the other 8 degree. I also had the orignal transducer go bad and it would sometimes work and sometimes it would fail. If you have a friend with a 192 khz transducer and it has the same plug take your unit and try it on his transducer or bring his unit and try it on your tranducer.

Tranducer do go bad and are still not too bad a price to replace. The 350 A is a great unit.

I assume you have done a system reset and turned up the sensitivy.

When you turn it on does display come on with a logo and scroll to the left?
If you turn on digital data does that information display. Voltage, Speed, Depth or is the whole screen blank. I would turn on voltage and make sure the unit is getting 13.8 volts.
