I am a tad bit pissed off right now. Story. Bought brand new Lowrance. Took out of box. Why looking at it and flipping it all around I hear a clunk-clunk noise inside. Verify nothing on the outside or screen is loose. Call Lowrance. Get a case number and off for repair it goes under warranty. I specifically put in the return paper inside the box that the unit when shaken or turn back and forward has a clunking noise coming from inside. Lowrance did their thing, which their customer service is lacking because it a call center and not someone at Lowrance, send it back. Guess what, the f&$king unit still has the noise. Here is a video. I know this can’t be normal or can it? But since I can’t talk to no one at Lowrance and only a call center that has no idea what a GPS probably is, I have no clue.

Lowrance was bought out by Navico/Simrad (Norway) a while ago.

At that point the Lowrance brand became the companies "big box" offering. All the hardcore Lowrance guys I know run Simrad equipment

I got it all squared away. Found a number for Lowrance and was able to talk to someone from the company. It’s getting replaced with a new unit. I also noticed the Navico buyout. They own a lot of companies.

Why did it need to be repaired? Did you try it to see if it worked?

Yes it worked. Did you see the video? That’s why it needed to be repaired.
The video just showed a rattle, not the unit installed and operating. My wonder was if the noise had caused it to not function.

It was just the rattle. I did have it installed and it worked as far as turning on and messing with it some. Never got to go out on the water to test.
