I recently purchased and installed a Lowrance EP-60R fuel flow sender. The installation was completed with the instruction guide, and my LowranceNet NMEA2000 network appears to be fully functional. I am using a HDS-7 chartplotter as my display device.

Under my network device page the fuel flow sender appears, and even indicates a serial number and IP address that has been assigned. However, when I look at the data coming from the unit, the fuel flow data remains a constant 0.0000. It remains this way under all throttle conditions. The boat has a VP 5.7GSi capable of burning ALOT of gas, so some flow should register.

I did see a "blip" one time of a few tenths of a GPH, but it immediately returned to 0.000 and hasnt changed since.

What else could I be missing? Thanks in advance!

If this sender is "turbine wheel" style, it should be installed vertically rather than horizontally. It may also be that the sender is defective. You should be able to look into the sender and see the turbine wheel. Very gently blow into the unit to see if it registers. If it does, the turbine is being bound up to the mounting. If not, the sender is apparently defective.
