Re: lowrance freezes up

my experience, when it looses track of the bottom it does that - flash the last known depth.

my 'ducer is on the transom, that happens from time to time, slowing down a tad usually lets it recover the bottom, and I have found that this happens when the 'ducer slips a bit in the bracket, my guess is it's the sudden angle change, I could be wrong about that. Needs to be just a bit tighter probably.

In your case, maybe the epoxy has loosened up just a bit?

I agree if it does not get back a bottom signal it will either flash the las depth or 0. If it is a shoot thru hull transducer make sure it has not become unglued. If it has it will get air under the transducer and it will not work well.
Glue it back down with slow cure epoxy or build a dam around the transducer and fill with water.
